Sumaithangi Trust Aids Chemmanchery After Michaung Cyclone Devastation

In the wake of the Michaung Cyclone's devastation across multiple districts, the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board Tenements at Perumbakkam and Chemmanchery bore the brunt of its impact. The relentless invasion of water wreaked havoc, particularly affecting 2500 families residing on the ground floors, who suffered substantial losses as their belongings were washed away. Responding to the urgent needs of the affected communities, Sumaithangi Trust swiftly mobilized relief efforts.

On December 27th and 28th, the Trust distributed 1000 sleeping mats and 1000 bedsheets to families in Chemmanchery. This crucial aid provided not only physical comfort but also a sense of security and warmth amidst the chaos and uncertainty. By extending a helping hand during this challenging time, the Trust exemplified solidarity and compassion, demonstrating its commitment to standing by those most affected by natural disasters. Through such acts of kindness and support, hope is restored, and the journey towards recovery begins for the resilient families of Chemmanchery.
